George Markham
Artist Blacksmith
At Forging Ahead Blacksmithing, George brings over 8 years of experience and a BA (Hons) in Artist Blacksmithing to the art. Every piece he creates is carefully hand-forged using time-honoured techniques, ensuring unmatched quality and craftsmanship. From bespoke home décor to unique sculptures, his work reflects a passion for artistry and detail.
From bespoke decorative accents to functional art, he takes pride in blending traditional techniques with modern design to craft unique, bespoke creations. Georges passion lies in the details— ensuring every piece not only tells a story but also brings warmth and character to any space. The sculptural pieces he makes develop continuously on themes of nature, exploring subject matter in the field. George also uses the Art Nouveau Movement to inspire his designs.
He has exhibited work at numerous events including RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025. The work has also previously been on sale in a number of galleries including Bluestone Gallery.
In addition, he shares his love for this ancient craft through engaging Forge Experience Days. These hands-on workshops provide participants with the unique opportunity to learn traditional blacksmithing techniques, create their own handcrafted piece, and gain an appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every forge strike.
